My tax return money has bought me some new toys in the way of a major computer upgrade. My sweet husband (), who happens to be a computer technician, put all these awesome parts together for me and put Vista on it (still in trial mode for the moment until I decide if I want to stay with it or go back to XP). Obviously I won't be able to work on anything until I get my programs installed again. *begins hunting disks* I can't wait to see how my games look with all this power and a new video card.
So much for not wanting to start or finish anything else until the move. I can't resist the urge! I suppose I should have said I don't know if I will feel like working on anything until the move is done. I have begun tinkering with the Gehenna portrait again. I'm hoping some of what I learned drawing those last 4 portraits will help to make this one better.
I'm still packing for our move, and will be glad when it's done and over with and I can get back on the job hunt.
I don't plan to make/finish anything new here until our move is complete. (This won't apply to simply scanning old stuff I run across as we pack.) Our home is starting to look like a whirlwind went through as I yank stuff out of the closets and decide if we really want to keep it or not, and send the unwanted items to Goodwill. I'm having the hardest time trying to pick and choose between some items I received when my grandmother passed away. They have sentimental value, but I have no use for them or no room. Oh, decisions - decisions! I am keeping the antique upright piano, however. *hugs piano*
No surprise, the job interview turned out to be crap. The business is legitimate, but the guy in charge reminds me so much of one of my old bosses that I want to run for the hills. I might have been willing to put up with him if it weren't for two things - the business is in the middle of downtown Atlanta, and the guy wasn't willing to give me enough time to create some samples from scratch before having someone call me at home and harass me for them. Maybe it was a miscommunication during the interview or something, but I thought I'd have the weekend to finish the samples and e-mail the results at the beginning of the week. At any rate, I know I'm a hard worker and I won't put up with someone who treats me like I'm trying to goof off. It's not like I was being paid for these samples anyway.
I'm thinking that for the time being I'm going to stop job hunting - at least until we've decided where we're going to live. Dealing with both at the same time is giving me more gray hairs than I deserve.
Portraits The four free portraits I've offered will be done in the order of request. The next one I'm working on is for *Peacejunkie and then =PSNick. As I said before, I'm going to work on these when I have time.
1. I figured I'd take a chance and post an ad in the résumé section on Craig's List and low and behold - I have an interview tomorrow! I don't know what to think (as to if I actually want the job or not) but I guess I shall find out.
2. Tonight we're touring an apartment. I hope we find a new place relatively soon so we don't waste time or money on moving. Timing things to correspond with the end of our lease is critical.
